Attracting Key Talent in the LGBTQ+ Community

How Pride and Joy Foundation’s Impactful Benefit Survey can increase diversity and talent retention in your workplace

When employers are looking to attract key LGBTQ+ talent into their workplace, a good place to start is with employee benefits. But how can employers looking to become inclusive leaders create a benefits package that truly reflects what LGBTQ+ workers are looking for and brings in those key employees? That’s where the Impactful Benefits Survey comes in.

 

How the survey helps the LGBTQ+ Community

The Impactful Benefits survey gives LGBTQ+ people, their allies and parents the chance to tell employers which workplace benefits are most inclusive and beneficial to members of the LGBTQ+ community. If you've been looking for a way to share your thoughts on workplace benefits, this is your chance to have your say.

The survey seeks to create the workplaces people in the LGBTQ+ community have been fighting for. Whether it's comprehensive mental health benefits or paid time off for fostering or adopting children, you can help companies prioritize what the LGBTQ+ community needs. It creates a more welcoming and harmonious workplace for everyone.

 

Talent retention and attracting new employees

Not only can these workplace benefits help employees (LGBTQ+ or not), these benefits also help employers and their companies too. According to Forbes, inclusive companies are twice as likely to meet their financial goals, be more innovative and their workers are much more likely to stay with the company longer. On top of that, employees can see that their employers care and are listening. It puts companies ahead of their competitors and keeps employees happy. 

Implementing LGBTQ+ preferred benefits also increases employee retention which can save your company more than time. According to Workopolis, hiring new employees costs employers on average around $4000 per person. On top of that, training can cost an average of $1075 per employee which means that every time you see that letter of resignation cross your desk, you're looking at spending around $5000 to replace that employee. Offering employees enticing benefits can save you a lot of money, time and keep talented employees from leaving the company.
